TNF: Philadelphia Eagles at the Green Bay Packers
Week Four gets underway tonight as the 1-2 Philadelphia Eagles travel to the unbeaten Green Bay Packers.
Philadelphia enter Week Four off a shock loss to the somehow unbeaten Detroit Lions, a weak secondary and a stuttering offence has caught up with them in recent weeks, that leave’s them sitting with a negative record. Carson Wentz has often struggled to get going with inconsistency from himself, his wide receivers and his offensive line. It is very clear that the Eagles do rely on the run game working throughout a game, and this will need to be the case if they are to make any ground on this strong Green Bay defence.
Unlike the Eagles, the Packers are unbeaten, putting up impressive wins against the Bears, Vikings and Broncos. Aaron Rodgers has found his throwing arm again as if he hadn't lost it, Aaron Jones is coming of age just at the right time to give the Packers a backfield that can help Rodgers out and Green Bay actually added to its defence in free agency, spending big bucks on linebackers Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith. The Packers look like a force to be reckoned with, a defence that can play and an offence that Aaron Rodgers can own, Matt LaFleur has a team, and the moment its all clicking.
Can’t help but think this game is Green Bay’s to lose, the whole team is playing well and jelling together. The Eagles have a hell of lot of talent within their side but when things aren’t going for you, they aren’t going for you. For Philadelphia to pull anything out of the bag they have to get the run game going, they failed to do so against Detroit and it cost them but for the Packers, I feel it’s quite simple, do your job, and you win this game.
