Missing Adam Le Fondre

Missing Adam Le Fondre

Adam Le Fondre, the world’s most potent striker, or at least that’s what he has been to Bolton Wanderers fans over the last three years. And to make it worse, I think he’d make a massive difference to the team today.

We have three strikers, all above six feet, which you’d say is great for playing hoof ball and holding ball up. Yep, quality. But then what? Is he meant to did all by himself, we’ve all seen that before and it doesn’t go well.

The addition of Erhun Oztumer at five foot three is all well and good but Wanderers are screaming out for a finisher up front. With the team we have we know full well we’re going to play down the channels and over the top. We desperately need someone to come in and take the ball off the big strikers and pick up the scraps that they miss.

I like what Oztumer is trying to do, but he seems so easy to knock off the ball and he’s not a striker. We need the grit and constant running of Le Fondre, chasing everything down. You trusted him and he did us well, he was a proven Championship finisher.

One win in seven and only a single goal in the last six games. We’re getting closer to the relegation zone week by week and I’m not saying Le Fondre would fix all our problems, but we are definitely feeling his loss more and more. Miss you ALF.
