TNF: Panthers at the Steelers Preview

TNF: Panthers at the Steelers Preview

Thursday Night Football see’s the 6-2 Carolina Panthers travel to the 5-2-1 Pittsburgh Steelers to kick off week 10 in the NFL.

The Steelers come in off four straight wins with RB James Conner making a name for himself in the absence of Le’Veon Bell. With 706 rushing yards this season so far, Conner is on course to beat Bell’s best rushing season. The Steelers defence has also stepped up in recent games with the team letting no more than 21 points in their las four games.

The Panthers are also on a winning streak, taking three wins from their last four games and one things for sure Cam Newton is back. Cam and RB Christian McCaffrey are more in sync than ever, both very versatile, they have the protentional to drive the Steelers secondary mad.

This is a big time match up, two teams that I cannot see missing out on the play-offs unless there’s one big hiccup. Big Ben Roethlisberger has the Steelers offence flowing at the right time, he even managed to pull off a punt last week, Pittsburgh look good and with weapons like Antonio Brown and Juju Smith-Schuster, you know he’s going to make plays, not to mention how good their run game is right now.

Carolina have Cam playing lights out, even maybe getting close to his 2016 form that took the team to the Superbowl. Having down field weapons like Torrey Smith and McCaffery in the back field the offensive options aren’t limited. Not forgetting London born LB Efe Obada who is currently enjoying a decent first season considering he only started playing four years ago.

For once this is a very good Primetime match up, two big time teams going at it, this game could be anything from high scoring to a defensive slug out.

As a Raven’s fan, I’m not too fond of the Steelers but I do believe they will edge this as their defence is on the top of their game and I just feel they will be able to get two or three stops against Cam and the Panthers.

Kick off is at 8:20pm ET or 1:20 GMT for every nocturnal person in the UK.
